A Reddit user’s frustrating experience with a rude CEO ended up costing the CEO his company’s Wikipedia page. After a brief and unpleasant job interview, the user took action that left a mark on the online reputation of the small company led by that CEO.

The job seeker had been excited for the interview. Instead, they encountered a litany of unprofessionalism that lasted only ten minutes but seemed to stretch on. The CEO made the candidate wait an hour without explanation, displayed clear rudeness, and seemed unfamiliar with the candidate’s resume. The questions he posed did not relate to the job at all and often wandered into personal territory, seeking information about former coworkers that had no place in a professional setting.

After the short interview, the frustrated job seeker left feeling that their time had been wasted. Lacking any prior knowledge of Glassdoor, the candidate later discovered the company’s page on the site. It did not take long to find a pattern in the reviews: the CEO was consistently lambasted by others who had also crossed paths with him. The overwhelming negativity painted a grim picture of the workplace culture, rooted in the same toxic behavior the Reddit user had just experienced.

It was during this exploration that the user stumbled upon something surprising—the CEO’s company had a Wikipedia page. Initially, the page seemed like an advertisement for the business, filled with self-promotional content. Wikipedia editors frequently intervened, stripping away the exaggerated claims and marketing jargon until the entry became little more than a stub, essentially a note stating, “This company exists.”

The page’s near-nakedness caught the attention of the job seeker, who noted a “Notability” tag warning that the page didn’t meet Wikipedia’s standards for inclusion. This prompted a realization: the user did not feel compelled to help improve the page. Instead, they thought of the time wasted in that awful interview and the negative experiences shared by others. With a hint of satisfaction, the user applied a “Proposed Deletion” tag to the page. This would trigger a deletion process unless someone objected or made edits within a week.

The waiting game began. Would someone step in to defend the company’s place on Wikipedia? The job seeker was not optimistic, partly due to the scathing reviews that suggested many shared disdain for the company and its leader. Sure enough, a week later—without any objections or edits—the page was deleted. The user experienced a small rush of delight at the prospect of the company’s online presence being erased.

The story did not end there, however. Reddit users engaged with the post, sharing their own experiences with toxic employers and the negative impact of unprofessionalism in the workplace. One person shared, “Sometimes, toxic leaders think they can intimidate potential employees, but they just end up digging their own graves.”

Another reader commented on the power of platforms like Wikipedia, expressing relief that the user took action. “It’s great to see someone not just sit back and take it. This CEO got what he deserved!” they wrote.

Beyond the thrill of revenge, there are deeper themes at play. This incident highlights how digital platforms can wield power over businesses and individuals today. The quick deletion of the Wikipedia page demonstrates that even small companies are subject to public opinion and the collective voices of those who interact with them.

As the discussion continued, the user remained conflicted about whether this action was entirely justified. While the deletion felt satisfying, they also reflected on whether it was fair to erase a company’s presence entirely, considering the efforts that might have been made by other employees. “Do the employees deserve to pay for this guy’s actions?” they wondered aloud.

Even with the support from fellow Reddit users, the job seeker was left pondering the ramifications of their actions. Was it merely a personal victory, or had it crossed a line? The decision loomed over them as they continued to weigh their thoughts on accountability in the business world.
