A 30-year-old woman recently made headlines after her fiancé revealed an unexpected plan to rehome her dog just weeks before their baby is due. The engagement, which had seemed promising, took a turn when she stumbled upon a rehoming profile created by her fiancé, a 33-year-old man.

The couple lives together and is set to purchase a larger home later this year. The woman had adopted her six-year-old mutt before meeting her fiancé, and although they initially struggled to get along, their relationship had improved over time. She felt the bond between her dog and fiancé had grown and believed their situation was stable.
However, when her fiancé presented the rehoming profile, she felt blindsided. The profile included photos and detailed descriptions of the dog, making it clear he had put thought into the decision without ever discussing his concerns with her first. His main worry was that their dog might not behave well around their upcoming baby.
“He showed me the profile, and I was utterly shocked,” she recounted. “We had never talked about this. I thought everything was fine.” Her dog, though sometimes reactive, had been around young family members, including babies and toddlers, without any incidents. This history led her to believe that the dog would adapt well to the new family dynamic.
Ultimately, she must decide how to navigate these sensitive discussions while determining whether her fiancé is willing to approach the situation differently. The choice remains unresolved, with both their futures teetering at a critical junction.
