A 34-year-old woman from Sanford, North Carolina, is coming forward with disturbing allegations surrounding her mother’s death and the actions of her stepfather and his daughter. She claims that her mother, who suffered from multiple health issues and was in hospice care, was neglected to the point of suffering from severe bedsores and other critical complications.
The woman, who describes her mother as an addict, was the only family member present when her mother passed away on November 3, 2025. She recounts that her mother was bedridden and blind due to complications from both diabetes and long-term drug use. After being told in 2024 that her mother had six months to live, she made the decision to sign her mother up for hospice care.
However, she alleges that her stepfather and his daughter had been taking her mother’s morphine, leaving her in excruciating pain and unable to manage her own health care. “They were having her snort Tylenol, convincing her it was dope,” the daughter said.
