A homeowner’s clever revenge against a thieving neighbor has captured attention online. The neighbor, known for sneaking into the backyard to steal gas from the homeowner’s can, unknowingly stumbled into a trap set by his victim.

The homeowner began to notice their five-gallon gas can frequently emptying despite only needing a small amount to refill their lawnmower. After some thought, they suspected their neighbor was pilfering the gas whenever they stepped out. Unable to install a security camera, they improvised by using a laptop with motion detection software to catch the thief in the act.
The homeowner filled the gas can with urine instead of gasoline. They knew that the opponent—who they regarded as a “huge piece of crap”—would not be able to tell the difference, as the odor of gas could still be detected. They then left the can out on their patio, making sure the neighbor would notice it while preparing for a trip. The homeowner gave the impression of leaving for a considerable time, hoping the neighbor would take the bait.
