A young woman recently shared her distressing experience on Reddit after her mother shifted plans for an anticipated trip to Italy. The woman had just received news of a scholarship that would allow her to study abroad for a week. Excited to share this milestone with her mother, she believed they would travel together, as they had done many times before.

However, shortly after booking accommodations for the pair, her mother abruptly changed her mind. Rather than spending the week with her daughter, she decided to stay in an apartment with her boyfriend, who the daughter noted had physically assaulted her when she was a teenager. The woman expressed her feelings of betrayal and hurt when confronted with this sudden shift in plans.
